Welcome!

Hi!

I'm excited for you all to learn to play the violin.I have been playing the violin for over 10 years and I'm glad to provide a space for students to learn to play. This website will provide a space for students to access 24/7 to lessons and videos for someone just beginning to play the violin. Depending on how advanced the student is, the lessons can take as little as 5-10 minutes.

Objectives

1. Students will be able to learn to identify the parts of the violin and how to correctly hold the violin.

2. Students will learn to correctly play a scale.

3. Students will master one of two songs: Mary Had a Little Lamb and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

Let's Interact

Please introduce yourself in the comment section. I would love to get to know my students and give you any immediate feedback that I can.

Comment/Email Etiquette

Please put your name and to which lesson the email or comment pertains in your post. That way I can better identify the issue.

**Keep in mind that this is a blog and newer posts will appear at the top of the page and older posts will appear at the bottom. If there is any confusion, please leave a comment or send an email to Adrienenoelemoore@gmail.com

Evaluation 2

Lesson 2 & 3

In this evaluation, I ask that you are able to identify the strings with their names, identify the notes on the staff, and identify the correct fingerings on your violin.

1. Print out image
2. Identify strings ONLY
3. Identify notes on staff
4. Identify correct fingerings for notes
5. Take picture and post image in comments section

Write the string name next to the correct string

Draw the notes D E F G A (I will accept any octave) on the correct spot on the staff. Next, write the number (1,2, or 3) for each corresponding note on the staff.

After completing the evaluation, you should practice matching your fingers to the strings and playing the scale. This part is not graded but it is HEAVILY recommended that you practice your scales.

Course Etiquette

I've designed this course to be 80% independent. You are free to jump from lesson to lesson or to move on when you feel that you have mastered a lesson's skill. The amount of time given for each lesson is a minimum requirement. You may take as long as you need on a lesson. As stated before, I am available if you have questions or comments and I can be contacted though the comments section on the blog or at my email: Adrienenoelemoore@gmail.com.

Technical Requirements

This blog will work on a MAC or PC under Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari.
Printer
It is important that you have basic knowledge of computers and internet in order to benefit from this course.

**I highly recommend having access to a printer. In the event of a technological failure and the blog is malfunctioning, it is wise to have a print out of the lessons and or scales/songs from the lessons.
